“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis was ready to offer Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the call girl linked to Eliot Spitzer, $1 million to appear in a non-nude feature for his magazine, but pulled the offer once he found archived videos of her. It turns out the call girl linked to Eliot Spitzer had already shed her clothes for “Girls Gone Wild” as an 18-year-old while partying in Miami, the video company’s founder Joe Francis said. Dupre was celebrating her 18th birthday in Miami when she was filmed. Francis had tried to contact Dupre with an offer of $1 million to appear in a non-nude spread for his company’s new magazine, plus a chance to join the “Girls Gone Wild” tour bus, a company spokesperson announced. But Francis said someone had a revelation at a staff meeting: “Did anyone think to check the archives?” They did, he said and “there she was.”"It’ll save me a million bucks,” Francis said. “It’s kind of like finding a winning lottery ticket in the cushions of your couch.” Francis said at that point, his offer was off the table. “We actually had been dealing with her rep,” he said. “Our offer was the real deal. We just never made the connection.” According to a “Girls Gone Wild” press release, Dupre visited Miami in 2003 to celebrate her 18th birthday. After fighting with a friend and getting thrown out of her hotel, Dupre found a nearby “Girls Gone Wild” bus, the company said.She signed legal papers and spent a full week on the bus, filming seven full-length tapes which included nudity and same-sex encounters, according to the company.”I personally ended up buying her a Greyhound bus ticket back home to North Carolina,” Francis said. Dupre’s public profile has skyrocketed since former New York Gov. Spitzer resigned earlier amid the prostitution scandal. He was accused of spending tens of thousands of dollars on prostitutes, including a February tryst with a call girl named “Kristen,” since identified as Dupre.

Britney Spears was ordered by a court commissioner to pay ex-husband Kevin Federline $375,000 to cover his attorney fees in their child-custody dispute. Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that Spears’ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in her custody case with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federlines lead attorney, had asked for nearly $500,000. Gordon issued the order in response to arguments presented last week. Spears’ attorney Stacy Phillips argued that Kaplan was overbilling and that Federline can pay his own legal bills, but Gordon wrote that Spears’ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in the case. Spears has had very limited contact with her two toddler sons, who are under the sole physical and legal custody of Federline. Spears’ father, James, was named one of two co-conservators of her estate after she was hospitalized twice in January. The conservatorship has been extended until July 31.

Paul McCartney was ordered to pay Heather Mills $48.6 million to settle their divorce. A document released by the Family Court said the judge awarded Mills a lump sum of $33 million plus the assets she currently holds worth $15.6 million.”I’m so, so happy with this,” Mills told reporters following the closed hearing. The court also ruled that the couple’s 4-year-old daughter should receive a “periodical payments order” of $70,000 per annum. Mills said the settlement vindicated her decision to fire her lawyers. The legal fees, she said, “instead could easily go to charity.” The settlement has been a long time coming for the couple, who separated two years ago, after four years of marriage. At the time they said the parting was “amicable” and insisted “both of us still care about each other very much.” But the split had grown contentious after McCartney filed for divorce alleging his wifes “unreasonable behavior.” Mills claimed McCartney had failed to protect her and their daughter from slander, death threats and other abuse, and accused the media of persecuting her. In November, Mills said she had been “treated worse than a murderer” despite years of work for land mine victims and animal welfare charities.
